Classes

Classes are available for those who have an interest in learning stained glass or fused glass. Maybe you just need to develop better skills and increase your glass knowledge. I will do one on one class’s. No more than 2 students per class per day.

GLASS CUTTING 101:

1 hours $25.00  This class will get you familiar with the tools used for cutting glass. You will learn how to handle glass, cutting with the glass pistol cutter, and how to make some of the trickier cuts that can be involved in more complex designs. *No open toe shoes allowed.

BEGINNERS COPPER FOILING: 2 hours $85.00

The method used to join to pieces of glass together prior to soldering. You will learn how to handle the foil and which thickness to use on specific glass types. Tools used and technique will be covered in this class. A must for the stained glass beginner!

STAINED GLASS SUNCATCHER (2) days $125.00 (Copper Foil Method)

*Prior Glass cutting and foiling experience necessary. In this glass you will construct one medium sized sun catcher. This class will teach you how to apply solder and proper cleaning and polishing. You will have a choice of designs to pick from. All glass is included in the price. *No open toe shoes allowed.

Depending on your skill level classes should last around 3 to 4 hours.

BEGINNER’S FUSING (2) days $120.00 *Prior Glass cutting experience necessary.

 We will discuss glass compatibility, the fusing do’s and don’t’s, firing schedules and cleanliness. You will design and construct a 10” plate using fusible glass. Each day will last for about 3 to 4 hours. Your first day will be learning the fundamentals and techniques used in fusing glass. You will cut and put your piece together. Your plate will put in the kiln for firing. The second day we will review your final piece and slump or drape it if desired. *No open toe shoes allowed.

ADVANCED FUSING CLASS 2 – 3 days $180.00 *

Materials not included for this class. Glass can be purchased from me or you can bring your own. *Prior Fusing Experience necessary. You will have a choice of learning one of the following:

1.Aperture Pour also called Pot Melt Method
2.Glass Stringer Vase
3.Dichroic Abstract Design.
4.Strip Bowl or Plate

You will learn about the techniques needed to successfully create your glass art in each of the choices listed. You will choose one of the projects from above, put it together and fire it. Each listed method has its own special steps and firing schedules.

You will leave with all notes needed to recreate your newly learned method at home. Depending on the technique and design you choose will determine the amount of time you need to complete your project. Each day will last about 4 to 5 hours. Price remains the same up to 3 days of class time. Any additional time will be $15.00 per hour. *No open toe shoes allowed.

FUSED GLASS PENDANTS 1 day $50.00 *Prior Fusing Experience necessary*.

During this class you will design, shape and fire one glass pendant. We will use Dichroic glass and you will learn the different appearances you can achieve with it. Glass is included in the price. If you would like to create more than 1 pendant during this class you can purchase additional glass. *No open toe shoes allowed.
